The Undiscovered Jewel of Andalusia
Antequera has a wide variety of places to stay, both within the city centre, and on the outskirts.
There is quality private accommodation for people prefering self catering, and a full range of hotel accommodation to suit budgets.
There is also a mobile home and campsite outside Antequera town on the road to the Torcal Nature Park, although this is under reform at the time of writing, and enquiries are best made to the Tourist Office of Antequera.

Accommodation ranges from 1 to 5 star.
The 1 and 2 star Hostales in the town centre offer good value for money accommodation, with bathrooms on suite.
They are clean and well serviced.
Prices range from approximately 30 euros (single) to 60 euros (double) depending on requirements and season.
These include: Hotel San Sebastian, Hotel Numero Uno, Hotel Castilla, Hotel Colon, Hostal Hotel Toril. All have around 10 to 15 rooms.

Antequera Parador
Antequera has a 5 star Parador, located on the Paseo García del Olmo by landscaped gardens, and is a five minute walk from the Plaza de Torro (bull ring) and city center.
In contrast to many of the Paradors throughout Andalucia and Spain, the Antequera parador is modern in design, which is ironical given the wealth of historical buildings in Antequera.
It has all the facilites you would expect from 5 star rated accommodation.
The adequate swimming pool is set in lawned grounds, offering a tranquil environment.
It has a terrace bar and food service. The restaurant is well rated, though on the pricey side. Staff are efficient.
The rooms are spacious and well maintained.
Note: It is a common venue for conferences and small exhibitions, and it is best to enquire about this first if considering a private reservation as service can suffer at the personal level.

Hotel Magdelena
The 5 star Hotel Magdelena is a newly converted convent. It is situated just outside Antequera, in a countryside setting near the Antequera Golf Course.
It was originally the Convent of Saint Peter of Alcantara, constructed in 1584, and subsequently reconstructed between 1691 and 1708.
It is a wonderful building, with annexes and quaint stairways.
There are 21 en suite bedrooms, which are all nicely furbished. The hotel has spa facilities,a basic gym, and an indoor swimming pool.
The restaurant serves pleasing cuisine, in a nice atmosphere, with full width windowing to the lovely surrounding views. There is terrace dining in the summer months, usually with a barbecue style menu. The bar offers some good wines at a reasonable price for a 5 star venue.
Note: As with the Parador, it is best to check on conferencing or weddings before reserving accommodation or dining, as again personal service can suffer.

Finca Eslava Hotel
The Hotel Finca Eslava is a 4 star hotel, although in our opinion it easily matches the above two venues.
It offers an appealing Andalusian atmosphere due to it’s ’18th century Cotijo’ design.
It is situated on the border of Antequera on the Córdoba road, approximately a five minute drive from the center of Antequera.
The accommodation is very good, with 30 rooms including two suites.
There is an adjoining sports centre with indoor and outdoor pool, large gym, and classes. Most of the facilities are free to residents.
The restaurant has a good menu, and is not too highly priced for the quality of the food and setting. The wine list is extensive and well chosen, containing some well priced wines.
It is a popular venue for weddings due to the lovely garden area, usually with Morrocan style marquees for these events.

Antequera Golf Hotel
Antequera Golf Hotel is a 4 star, and very popular. It situated on the edge of Antequera, and has 180 rooms. Rooms are reasonably priced.
There is an indoor and outdoor pool, sports facilities, small sun tanning area, and a night club. There is a spacious social bar and lounging area just beyond the reception desk.
The Antequera Golf course is a short drive away, and one of the reasons for the hotel’s popularity. There are beautiful views from the golf course and club house terrace.
The company is very active in promoting events at the hotel and the Golf Club, and you will see a considerable amount of publicity if you visit Antequera.

Hotel Coso Viejo
The Hotel Coso Viejo is a 3 star, and formerly an 18th century ancestral home.
It is right in the middle of town, overlooking the Museum square, with front bedrooms having a direct view of the square and the castle. We have heard these front rooms can sometimes be noisy due to traffic.
Rooms are a little dated, but usually good value.
There is a restaurant below the hotel, and buffet breakfast in a pretty internal courtyard. There are also related dining facilities on the square itself during the warm months.
There is some parking directly opposite the hotel.

Hotel Los Dolmenes
Hotel Los Dolmenes is a 3 star hotel, situated around 5 minutes from Antequera as you approach from the A45 motorway turn off from Malaga, on the A-7282.

Ample parking area at the front.

Torcal Camping: Mobile Home and Camping / Caravans
As stated above, Torcal Camping is currently closed due to ownership issues and reform. Information may be obtained from the Antequera Tourist Office. We have detailed information below however, for future reference.

Mobile homes and chalets are available for rent, and there are sites for private caravans and tents.
There are two restaurants and a café / bar. Pool table and table football.
There is a sun protected outside drinking and dining area.
